About Us

Founders traces its roots back over 30 years making sand cores for manufacturing clients, serving regional  foundries. Like many core shops of that era, the business was built on craftsmanship, reliability, and deep process knowledge in sand core production. About 10 years ago, Founders was purchased by eager new owners and started expanding their footprint.

 

In 2016, Founders began servicing non-regional customers and expanded into making hot box shell cores, as well as adding myriad options for material and additives. A wash process was added to create special surface finishes, and lean manufacturing processes were instilled into the Founders culture.

 

In 2024, Founders emerged as one of the first sand core shops in the world to begin 3D printing cores. We started with the Ex One Flex 3D Printer, and have since purchased Ex One's S Max Pro. We continue to innovate at Founders by researching and developing in exciting projects. One such project is a sand reclamation system for 3D printed sand and additives. Another project is creating foundry tooling with 3D printed sand cores, penetrated with hard resins that can withstand use as a pattern for foundries. We can support everything from high-volume production to rapid new job development. We’re focused on helping foundries move faster and handle more complex work while redefining our own industry with new processes and methodologies.
